Resizing images is very simple with the tools provided by the Fish Slam Club. By clicking on the link button, you will be directed to a website provided by PIXLR. This simple editing tool will help you crop your Portrait format pictures to a Landscape format so that you can upload it to the Fish Slam Club Photo Gallery. We will walk you through the specific steps to accomplish this. Please remember this...When converting a Portrait to a Landscape you will loose a large portion of the photograph. Make sure that the portion of the picture that you want is inside the cropped area that you create. Unfortunately not all pictures can be converted as you may like. When you are in the field in the future and are taking pictures, be sure that you take some in the Landscape format for easy submission to the Photo Gallery!

Here are the instructions for Resizing images...

1.     Go to Pixlr Editor from URL link below.

2.     Go to bottom left of Pixlr page and click on “Launch Pixlr X” it only take a few seconds and it is FREE.

3.     On left side of page click on “Open Image.” Go to your computer and select the image you want to put in PhotoGallery. Highlight photo and click on “open.” There are “resize options.” Go to “web” which is the smallest image on right. When placing an image on the web – this size will work fine.

4.     Now go to the “crop tool” at the left of the page near the top. It looks like a box with lines sticking out on the top left of the box and the bottom right. Click on it.

5.     Move your mouse to the image and resize it so that the width is approximately 50% wider than the height. This will change the image from a “portrait” layout to a “landscape”. Click Apply.’

6.     Make sure it says JPEG and “high” and click “Download.”

7.     A small white box will appear at the bottom left of the screen with the name of your file and a small arrow pointing upwards. Click on the arrow.

8.     Click on “show in folder,” to find the resized image.

9.     When you find your image you will want to give it a new name to distinguish it from the original picture.

10.  You should probably “copy” the new file and “paste,” it to a folder where you can easily find it when you are ready to upload your picture to the Fish Slam Club Photo Gallery.
